When should you replace your skylights or roof windows?
There are various signs that your roof windows or skylights will need attention and may need to be replaced or renewed.
Condensation: If condensation is around the roof windows, they may not be sealed properly and it indicates a fault. This means that heat will be lost and in the most severe cases, the structure of your roof may be affected.
Cracks: If you can see cracks in the glazing, it is time for a roof windows replacement. New Velux windows have various glazing options, including windows with toughened glass, safety lamination to prevent glass from falling into a room if the glass breaks, and rain noise reduction.
